CAREERS
ATTORNEY POSITIONS
BASTA is always searching for full-time Attorneys for our Homelessness Prevention program, which focuses on eviction defense litigation and trial work. We have openings in our Los Angeles, Lancaster, Long Beach, and van Nuys locations. The program is designed to ensure that persons without sufficient financial means have the same effective legal representation as those who can afford private counsel. We are at the forefront of the next civil rights battlefield–the basic human need for safe and affordable housing.
The Staff Attorneys’ broad-based responsibilities will include: jury trials, general pre-trial litigation, case assessment, depositions, discovery, and general advocacy on behalf of our clients seeking to avoid eviction and homelessness. The Attorneys may also be participating in other projects related to improving housing rights for low-income tenants. BASTA helps tenants because we believe that, “The revolution begins in our homes.” If you are ready to use your legal education to actually help people and have fun doing jury trials like you see on television, please apply. We want to meet you, and the community needs you!
